  2. 2011 Stadium Renovation

Mid July

As of Mid-July, still a lot of work being done and looks like a long way to go before late August. The track sub surface has been laid and compacted. The next step for the track is to lay the black top. The high jump black top has been laid. Significant work is being done on the hill at the north west part of the stadium as well as the retaining walls along the back of the walkways at the top of the home seating. One good bit of news, the walk ways at the top of the home side will be much wider. The visitor side is nearly complete, just some finish up work on the seating and the retention area at the north east portion of the stadium is nearly complete. The field event areas on the cross country field are progressing, all poured. The team room building is being drywalled and interior work is well underway. The grading around it is at the final grade. A month to go, will it all get done?

  • The foundation has been poured along the retaining wall on the back side of the north end of the home stands. Previously, the fence pole to the right was the limit of the walkway. This area was always very congested. Now, the retaining wall will mark the limit of the walkway. To the left of the retaining wall will be the rampway leading down to the concession stand and ticket gete.

  • Used to be a hill there under that dirt. Rumor has it that some dads used to paint "DeWitt" or "Panthers" or other slogans on this hill.
